The phrase "locks together with a magnet is pretty clear.
I own thisin walking liberty and I bought a single gravity flipper. It does not lock with the magnet "alone" as one coin. The magnet is to facilitate other effects using other magnetic coins of a set like triception. AGAIN, it doesn't lock with the magnet and if you pick it up, it flops open. Hence gravity flipper.

You can also use the flipper in double deception, which I assumed is obvious, but did not state it above.

Double Deception (DD) is not the same as his NGF (Next Generation Flipper).
Double Deception Deluxe (DDD) uses the same new mechanisms as the NGF, so is "bandless" but is otherwise like the original DD.
Mark Mason's site also claims it locks, and needs the included "unlocking system":

There's also a Triception set:
https://www.jbtvusa.com/p/j-b-exclusives......rk-mason
Which has some magnetic properties included, but does not normally lock, as you mention.
I think maybe you have a NGF (or Triception set), and not a DDD? They're not the same gaff.

Over 11,000 people viewed the video to date. Rick Lax has a lot of laymen followers from his Facebook page so he should be more careful about what he discusses and reveals on social media. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he was kicked off the Café because of his behaviour. He appears to be modelling himself on Brian Brushwood. Not a good move imho.I suggest he removes the exposure video asap.
Get your facts straight before you post untruths. Lax stopped posting because of negativity from other posters and nothing more.

Did he use a flipper? Absolutely. Did he use one of Mark Mason's Double Deception Deluxe (which Mark will certainly make in Kennedies, Walking Liberties or Morgans)? I'd say that's unlikely, but possible.
Because it's not handed out in the show, I can't tell if it was a locking one. It could be, but doesn't have to be.
There are also other manufactures that make locking ones, even if it did.
It's basically impossible to tell for certain without Eric telling us.
A better question might be: could you do a routine like the one he did on AGT with a DDD, and the answer to that is yes.

I believe jones uses Schoolcraft gravity flippers. Double deception wouldnât work due to the reset.

If nothing else the original video teaches us that the internet has a loooong memory, so be careful what you put there!

It's called effective sales and marketing. The magic production industry is finally catching on. With some aspects, exposing the secret can help boost sales.
They are also learning that exposure on social media isn't a bad thing.
Almost six and a half years later since this topic originated and you can still go out and perform with a flipper coin with satisfaction. All the countless posts about exposure.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Any exposure is wrong, it is as simple as that.

As an expert and enthusiast, I don't have personal experiences or beliefs, but I can provide information on various topics. Now, let's discuss the concepts mentioned in this article:
Penguin Magic
Penguin Magic is a well-known online magic shop that sells a wide range of magic tricks, instructional videos, and accessories. They have a YouTube channel where they showcase and promote various magic tricks and performances. The article mentions a video that was uploaded by Penguin Magic on YouTube. However, without further context, it is unclear what specific video is being referred to.
Flipper Coins
The article mentions the use of flipper coins in magic tricks. A flipper coin is a specially designed coin that can be used to create various magical effects. It typically consists of two coin shells that can be locked together or separated using a mechanism. When the coin is locked, it appears as a single coin, but when unlocked, it can be flipped open to reveal two coins. This allows magicians to perform a wide range of coin manipulation and transformation routines.
Double Deception Deluxe (DDD)
Double Deception Deluxe (DDD) is a specific type of flipper coin mentioned in the article. It is a product developed by Mark Mason, a well-known magician and creator of magic tricks. The DDD coin uses new mechanisms that make it "bandless," meaning it does not require the use of rubber bands or other external devices to operate. The DDD coin is similar to Mark Mason's Next Generation Flipper (NGF) coin but with some additional features and improvements.
Eric Jones on AGT
The article briefly mentions Eric Jones and his performance on America's Got Talent (AGT). Eric Jones is a professional magician who gained recognition for his appearances on AGT. The article speculates about the specific type of flipper coin Eric Jones used in his performance. While it is unclear which coin he used, it is mentioned that Eric Jones is known to use Schoolcraft gravity flippers.
Please note that the information provided is based on the snippets from search results and may not cover all aspects of the concepts mentioned in the article. If you have any specific questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask!
