How to confirm course participation in Wayne State? ›

Go to Academica and click on Student Resources. Click on Course Participation Status, find the class for which you received a PIN, and type it in. Your instructor will receive notice in the system, and will confirm your participation.

A student who receives any grade of "F" (failure) or "U" (unsatisfactory) will be dismissed and prohibited from completing additional coursework. A student who receives more than one grade of "WF" (Withdrawal Failing) will be dismissed.

Undergraduate: A grade point average of 2.00 is required for graduation. Graduate: A grade point average of 3.00 is required for graduation.

WSU policy regarding retaken classes

No student shall attempt to take a class more than four (4) times (for a definition of "attempt," see 5, below). If a student anticipates an attempt to take a class for the third (3rd) time, he/she must meet with an academic advisor to receive permission for this attempt.

To be awarded a graduate degree, a student must have achieved at least a 'B' (3.0) overall grade point average. Grades of 'B-minus' and below are unsatisfactory for graduate level work.

Some schools allow students to petition to have a grade removed from use in calculating the cumulative GPA, but the record of the class is not withdrawn from the transcript.

Keep written records.

Some instructors use class pictures, name tents, seating charts, or attendance lists to keep track of student names so they can record participation each class. Teaching assistants may be needed to help record students' contributions if your class is large.

You should receive an admission decision within three weeks of submitting your application or any outstanding materials. If you plan to major in music or dance, be sure to schedule an audition with the department.
